![]() I liked how the recipe on this post turned out best but there are plenty of other things you could think about slicing to add color and flavor. You may notice I have a few off to each side that I dressed differently. Finally, add your sliced olives for the full effect! Put your green mustard goo in a baggie and cut to corner to squeeze a small amount onto each egg.Ħ. If you are traveling to take these somewhere or want to make them ahead- skip this step and do it as you are setting them out or serve the crackers on the side.ĥ. The crackers really add something to this but if you add them too far ahead they will absorb any moisture from the egg and be a soggy mess. **Do NOT do this more than 1 hour ahead!** Place each egg slice on a cracker. Add just a few drops at a time until you are disgustingly happy with the color!Ĥ. Then add the food coloring to make the color you like. Now mix up your mustard, dijon and mayo until well incorporated. Cut them on the side so when they sit flat they are round.ģ. Worse case- a serrated edge will do it if you saw gently. A cheese knife works well because the holes reduce the resistance. Now, slice your bloodshot eyeball eggs into 3 peices with a really good knife. This gives a flat surface for the deviled mustard goo and olive to sit.Ģ. ![]() First, just barely slice off the top and bottom tip of your egg. 1 dozen bloodshot eyeball eggs (see directions above)ġ.This makes 24-36! Depending on how you slice it- literally. Pour off the remaining liquid from the eggs and put them in the ice bath. That’s equal parts of ice and water in a big bowl. Let the eggs soak in the pot in the dye mixture for 15 minutes. It’s good, this makes the dye brighter and better. Yes, it should fizzle a little because the vinegar reacts with the baking soda. Add the food coloring and the vinegar.Pour off all the water from the pot until it just barely covers the eggs.Return all the cracked eggs to the pot.So almost all the egg shell should remain on the eggs. Remove the eggs carefully (they are HOT!) and crack and roll them on the counter or a cutting board to get the shell cracked up well but the membrane still intact.Add baking soda to your water and boil your eggs (lightly- not a rolling boil) for 15 minutes. To make your bloodshot looking eggs you need: It was really a lot easier than you might think anyway. So, I recreated dressing them up as Deviled Egg Eyeballs but I will just explain the dying process without pics. I had some of the eggs left that I had boiled, dyed and peeled the day before when I made a batch for a party. ![]() I did not intend to post this- but they turned out so amazing I had to.
